I am committed to guiding students to discover and reach their greatest potential in the art of playing the piano. It is a pleasure of mine to help develop each student’s ability to produce music from their fingers, as well as, to hear the beauty of music and convey the message from their heart. Individual piano lessons are available to homeschool students, private and public school students, and adults. These one-on-one music lessons enhance the ability of the student to perform and become a valuable member of other performing groups in their future music experiences. Their daily practice will produce a discipline that will help them learn commitment to all areas of life and will build their self-esteem as well. Music has always been a major part of my life through teaching and playing, and I love to share my passion for music with my students so they enjoy the musical journey of learning how to play the piano.
I am a member of the Music Teacher’s National, Alabama, Tennessee (on AL, Huntsville & TN Executive Boards), Huntsville, and Middle Tennessee Music Teachers Associations and Past President of the Appalachian Music Teachers Association. I have also served as an Executive Board Member of the Greater Memphis Music Teachers Association and Appalachian Music Teachers Association. On a continuing basis, I regularly participate in piano teacher enrichment webinars and state conferences, as well as, do research online to learn what is the latest in teaching styles and methods. I am the recipient of the Appalachian Music Teachers Association Teacher of the Year Award for both 2017 and 2019.
My studio has involved teaching students of all ages from young beginners (age 3) to adults. It is always fun to see the excitement in any age student as they discover playing their first piece on the piano. Each student is unique in their gifts and abilities and I strive to encourage them to strengthen these through different styles of music. My students are offered a variety of performance opportunities in group lessons and studio recitals along with their weekly private lessons. As students achieve the appropriate levels, they will be able to participate in tAlabama Music Teachers District and State Auditions and Honors Recital.
I teach in the Huntsville/Madison, Alabama area and I am currently accepting students of any age in my piano studio. You may reach me through the "New Student Registration" tab on this website or by emailing me at piano@stringfieldorg.com. I would love to schedule an interview time with you and your child at no obligation or cost for the interview.
